I was a little girl who loved rats...animals of all sorts for that matter, but had a mother who was quite adamant about her "no rodents" policy. I decided early on from my book reading that rats were by far superior to all other rodents. Thusly, when my dream of rats finally came true, they were my Literary Rats.
Justin, named after Justin, the Captain of the Guard, in Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of Nimh. And Templeton, his namesake being that roguish, yet loveable eating machine from Charlotte's Web.
I must say, they both fit their names disturbingly well!
